Power of Place Exhibition

Discover the history of the Power Station over the past 40 years, following the transformational journey from closure to reawakening. This free self-guided pop-up exhibition charts the decades of creativity and development proposals of the Grade II* Listed Power Station from its closure in 1983 to its restoration and opening in October 2022.

Battersea Power Station has inspired and challenged developers for 40 years and many attempts have been made for the site. The exhibition explores creative concepts from a palace of pleasure as a theme park or football ground, to futuristic living and working in an Eco Dome before its final transformational journey and restoration, made possible by Battersea Power Station’s consortium of Malaysian shareholders’ vision and determination.

The exhibition forms part of the Discovery and Heritage Trail at Battersea Power Station, for more information on discovering our heritage click here.
