Join us for this year’s celebrASIA, a three-day celebration of South East Asian food, culture and community between 5th – 7th September! This year we have four incredible festival ambassadors – Mandy Yin, William Lee Adams, Oniatta Effendi and Sunni Brummitt. Continue reading to find out more about them and their involvement in celebrASIA 2025.
“I had a fantastic time at celebrASIA at Battersea Power Station last year, meeting people from all over South East Asia.
“celebrASIA is a brilliant opportunity for visitors to discover the region’s rich culture and heritage in the heart of London, there’s so much to see and do across the weekend for all ages. As a chef, I can’t wait to try out the Feasting Tent and some of the new street food trucks, as well as some old favourites from last year.”
Twenty-nine of London’s finest South East Asian chefs, street food pop-ups, and eateries will be at celebrASIA! Must-visit highlights include Mandy Yin’s Sambal Shiok teaming up with Chick ‘n’ Sours, to bring back their celebrASIA-exclusive chicken satay burger!
British-Malaysian Sunni Brummitt, known professionally as B-Boy Sunni, is the first breaker to ever represent Team GB as part of the Paris 2024 Olympics qualification journey.
“As someone born in Malaysia and now competing around the world as a pro breaker, being part of celebrASIA means a lot. I’m buzzing to join this year’s ambassador lineup and to celebrate my Southeast Asian roots at the festival in September.
Throughout my career, my goal has been to inspire the next generation of young talent, and I can’t wait to have some fun and get creative with the kids joining my masterclass, and to show them some of my latest breaking moves with a performance on the main stage”.
Bringing energy and flair to the festival, B-Boy Sunni will lead a Breaking Masterclass for 8–16 year olds in Malaysia Square on Saturday 6th September.
Singaporean fashion designer and founder of Baju by Oniatta, Oniatta Effendi, made her debut at the Artisan Market at last year’s celebrASIA, and is returning as one our festival ambassadors in 2025!
“Returning to celebrASIA this year feels like a heartfelt homecoming, a full circle that fills me with gratitude. It was fantastic to see so many people engaging and learning about the South East Asian culture at the festival in 2024 and I’m honoured to be one of celebrASIA’s ambassadors this year. I will be travelling from Singapore to share the beauty of the region’s fashion and design at the event’s Artisan Market. celebrASIA at Battersea Power Station offers a powerful space where stories are woven together – through fabric, food, and friendship – celebrating the rich, shared heritage of our region and its people.”
The Power Station’s iconic Turbine Halls will transform into a bustling Artisan Market, featuring over 30 independent traders. Visitors can browse and shop unique finds, including clothing from festival ambassador Oniatta Effendi’s brand, Baju by Oniatta.
Vietnamese-American broadcaster, William Lee Adams, will once again host the Main Stage in Power Station Park.
“celebrASIA is more than a festival — it’s a powerful celebration of South East Asian culture, identity and joy. Where else can you watch a traditional Thai dance, eat a Vietnamese bánh mì, learn Indonesian Batik and party with a DJ from Manila all in one day? CelebrASIA is Southeast Asia as you’ve never tasted, heard or danced it before, and I’m excited to be returning this year as an official ambassador.“
Festivalgoers can enjoy traditional live music and dance performances, including performances from the Indonesian Angklung Orchestra, the Lahing Kayumanggi dance troupe from the Philippines, the Battersea Power Station Community Choir and many more across the weekend.
