At Battersea Power Station, accessibility isn’t an add-on, it’s a core part of how we welcome everyone to enjoy this iconic destination. As a vibrant neighbourhood for shopping, dining, culture and leisure, we are committed to creating an environment where all guests feel confident, supported and included.
One of the key ways we champion inclusivity is through thoughtful communication, particularly for guests who are deaf or hard of hearing. Clear communication is essential to a positive visitor experience. To help remove barriers for deaf or hard of hearing guests, Battersea Power Station uses Convo.
Convo provides real-time, on-demand BSL interpreting with highly qualified interpreters, accessible through guests’ own mobile, tablet or web-enabled devices. Communication is unlocked through live video relay services and video remote interpreting, rather than text or transcription.
Available primarily at our Guest Services desks located at both the North and South entrances, the service is delivered in partnership with Convo through our Battersea Power Station Guest Services team. We have also taken it a step further and made these accessible QR codes available at all our reception desks, concierge desks and car park offices. It is free to use, with no account setup or login required. Anyone can simply scan a Convo Access QR code to gain instant access to qualified BSL interpreters, making support quick, seamless and stress-free.
By offering this technology, we empower our guests to engage independently and confidently with everything the site has to offer.
Technology is just one part of our accessibility journey. Our Guest Services team has also undertaken Deaf Awareness training and learnt basic sign language for customer service, equipping them with essential skills to support deaf and hard of hearing visitors face to face.
From greetings and simple questions to customer service essentials, learning sign language helps our team build more meaningful, human connections. It also demonstrates our commitment to inclusivity beyond tools and systems — embedding accessibility into everyday interactions across the site.
