A Station of Stories

This World Book Day, Battersea Power Station will launch A Station of Stories, a new year-long celebration of storytelling that brings books, creativity and imagination to life across the riverside neighbourhood in celebration of 2026 being the National Year of Reading.

Across the year, Battersea Power Station will host a series of literary moments designed to turn the iconic landmark into a destination for story lovers of all ages. From playful family experiences to ticketed cultural events, A Station of Stories invites visitors to slow down, get creative and rediscover the joy of a good book.

Across the World Book Day weekend (Friday 6th – Sunday 8th March), families visiting Battersea Power Station can step into the vibrant world of Mr Men Little Miss through a series of interactive activities taking place across the neighbourhood including the treasure hunt, using a specially created Mr Men Little Miss map.

Plus, Battersea Power Station’s cultural spaces and retailers will continue to bring A Station of Stories to life throughout the year including:

The House on Pooh Corner at Arches Lane Theatre
Take a visit to the Hundred Acre Wood Saturdays this spring at Arches Lane Theatre as renowned comedian Mitch Benn reads from the unabridged original stories by A A Milne and inspires a love of reading and storytelling in dreamers of all ages. Suitable for all ages.

She Writes at Arches Lane Theatre
Celebrate women’s stories and creativity at Arches Lane Theatre on International Women’s Day (8th March). Join a scratch night full of new plays from female writers, including the reading of a new micro play from their wave Writers playwright, Zakiyyah Deen, followed by networking in the theatre bar. Tickets are free with donations welcome.

In Pursuit of: Theory

Battersea Power Supplies Museum and Gift Shop 'In Conversation' Series
Keep your eyes peeled for ‘In Conversation’ book readings with authors celebrating the architecture and design of Battersea at Battersea Power Supplies Museum and Gift Shop.

Later in the year, mark your diaries as A Station of Stories will also expand with a wine tasting and book club event at The Wine Circuit, which will be returning to Battersea Power Station from 12th – 14th June.

In addition, visitors will also be invited to pause and unwind in a series of specially created “Read & Relax” nooks positioned across Battersea Power Station. These welcoming spaces will feature comfortable seating, soft lighting and ambient soundscapes, with books and notebooks available for visitors to enjoy on site.
