New Food and Drink Venues at Battersea Power Station

Four new food and drink venues have opened in recent weeks at Circus West Village, the first phase of the regeneration of Battersea Power Station, which is rapidly emerging as an exciting new food district. Many more are set to open in the months ahead, making it a great place to visit this holiday season and beyond.

The two latest restaurants, Fiume and Wright Brothers, have been joined by Vagabond, an award-winning independent wine shop and bar and The CoffeeWorks Project, an award winning London coffee house.

Francesco Mazzei, one of the world’s top Italian chefs, is serving classic Italian food from Calabria at Fiume, which features an open kitchen complete with wood-fired oven and bar counter dining. Inspired by the traditional food of Francesco’s homeland, the Mezzogiorno, the restaurant serves wholesome, hearty recipes made with fresh, vibrant ingredients from the Mediterranean.

Wright Brothers is a new riverside seafood restaurant from the renowned London oyster and shellfish specialists. It offers great fresh seafood and shellfish sourced from their wholesale business in Billingsgate Market, ensuring that only the finest and freshest produce makes the menu. It is home to the group’s first Josper charcoal oven, which cooks at a high temperature, enhancing the natural flavours while retaining the moisture in the seafood and meat. The restaurant also features a private dining room for up to 22 people.

Both restaurants have amazing heated outdoor terraces with views across the river and of the Power Station.

The CoffeeWorks Project, an independent family-run business showcasing the best coffees and tea from around the world, has also opened. Using a Slayer Steam machine the baristas are able to steam the milk at different temperatures, bringing out the sweetness of the milk. They serve breakfast and lunch as well as a range of homemade cakes and biscuits.

Vagabond is also now open, complete with one of the UK’s first urban wineries, dedicated to providing customers with a simple, approachable and enjoyable wine buying experience. It offers over 100 wines by the glass, a fantastic range of craft beers and a seasonal food menu.

Hundreds of residents are already living at Circus West Village and almost 500,000 people have visited the area since February. The Village Hall hosts a diverse programme of events for all ages and there are different pop-ups offering everything from food to Christmas gifts. The MBNA Thames Clippers River Bus service stops at a new state-of-the-art pier that has opened at the foot of the iconic Power Station, making it easier than ever to visit the area.

The new food and drink outlets join a variety of businesses and restaurants that have already opened including:

  • The Battersea General Store Your local global store with a diverse range of food, freshly made sandwiches and a deli
  • Boom Cycle Known for its high-energy, music-focused fitness experience, it has opened its flagship studio at Battersea Power Station. Boom Cycle has two indoor cycling studios, each kitted out with a state-of-the-art Funktion-One sound system and top-of-the-range models of Schwinn bikes
  • Mother A pizzeria from Copenhagen offering really good, simple soul food. The signature organic sourdough pizzas made with seawater is what best represents the Mother spirit along with the manufacturing of their own products including the mozzarella, the wine and the beer. This is the first international outpost of what is regarded as the best pizza restaurant in Denmark
  • No. 29 Power Station West A relaxed neighbourhood bar and restaurant, serving great food all day

Helen Carr, Leasing Director F&B and Leisure at Battersea Power Station Development Company, said: “The restaurants and new businesses opening here are adding to the buzz and excitement at this new town centre and make it a great reason to visit. We have already welcomed other great restaurants, The Battersea General Store and a spin studio as well as The Village Hall with a diverse programme of events, for all age groups as well as rotating pop-ups, making this a great place to visit.”
