Battersea Power Station will celebrate the annual RHS Chelsea Flower Show this year with a series of floral-inspired activities for all the family to enjoy at Circus West Village, the first element of the Power Station’s regeneration to complete.

With the first 10 new restaurants, cafés and bars now open, Circus West Village is the perfect place to eat, drink and visit either before or after a trip to the Flower Show. Get here via the Battersea Power Station MBNA Thames Clippers River Bus Pier and the Flower Show is just a short walk away.

From Saturday 19 May, visitors to this new riverside neighbourhood will be able to enjoy a large floral installation at the entrance at Grosvenor Arch. The installation will take over the entire archway creating a flower-covered canopy, providing the perfect backdrop for a floral ‘selfie’.

A series of workshops for all ages will also be on offer at Circus West Village, from miniature garden growing to boutonnière-making with one of London’s leading florists as well as a free screening of the Royal Wedding in The Village Hall. Many of the new restaurants that have opened at this exciting new food and drink destination will also be serving up delicious botanical dishes and mouth-watering floral cocktails. The full line-up of free to attend ‘Battersea Flower Power Station’ activities is as follows:

  • Boutonnière-making workshop with Royal Warrant Holder and florist, Moyses Stevens, which will soon be opening a new boutique and flower school at Battersea Power Station. Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 May from 10am to 4pm. Sessions every 30 minutes, last session at 3.30pm. Drop in. Free.
  • Miniature garden-designing with Heaps & Stacks. Visitors will be challenged to design their own miniature garden in a terracotta pot. Flavours include Rose Petal, Jasmine, Roasted Peach and Lavender.

Tonkotsu, known for its ramen, will be creating Smoked Hibiscus Margaritas garnished with edible flowers. The Battersea General Store will introduce a pomegranate and edible flower salad including fresh mint, cucumber shavings and mandarin segments.

No. 29 Power Station West, the village pub, has teamed up with Ketel One Vodka to launch The Ketel One Urban Garden Collective featuring a collection of experiences including London’s first ‘Clean Air Bar’, a living garnish wall and a mix of cocktails from BBC One Masterchef 2016 finalists, Billy and Jack. The Clean Air Bar has been decked out with plants found by NASA research to be the most effective at removing toxins from the air.

Hair and beauty salon Paul Edmonds is offering a complimentary Shu Uemura Night Serum packed with Red Camelia Flower when you book a cut and blow-dry with a Senior Stylist or Director during the Chelsea Flower Show. The salon is also offering a complimentary glass of Ruinart Champagne when you book a signature mani-pedi with your favourite ‘Flower Colour’ during the show.

In addition, the royal wedding will be screened at The Village Hall on Saturday 19 May from 12pm. This screening will be free to attend.

Visitors will be able to easily access all of the activities at Battersea Power Station courtesy of the MBNA Thames Clippers River Bus Service, which now stops at a new pier directly in front of the Power Station. It is the closest River Bus pier to Chelsea, and the Flower Show can be reached from it on foot in less than 10 minutes.

Helen Carr, Leasing Director, F&B and Leisure at Battersea Power Station, said: “Circus West Village is quickly becoming one of the most exciting new riverside destinations in London and with so much on offer from great restaurants to fun activities and workshops, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
