Wandsworth Artists’ Open House

The idea of the Open House is that visitors can meet artists and view their work in a relaxed and informal setting. Every venue is free to visit and there is no pressure to buy, but if you wish to you will be able to buy artwork without paying gallery prices.

You can choose a neighbourhood route guide or create your own discovery trail of Open Houses to visit at wandsworthart.com. You can base your trail route on a particular postcode or by the kind of art you’re interested in: there is a wide range of work on offer, including painting, textiles, sculpture, cards, bags and jewellery.

Wandsworth Council’s Deputy Leader, Councillor Jonathan Cook, says:

“Wandsworth Artists’ Open House is one of the highlights of the council’s annual arts and cultural events programme. It provides a rare opportunity to visit the homes and creative spaces of local artists and makers, and it’s a valuable sales opportunity for our growing creative industry.”

Wandsworth Artists’ Open House is coordinated by the Enable Arts Team, part of Enable Leisure and Culture, on behalf of Wandsworth Council. The event is run in conjunction with a steering committee of local artists.

The full list of Open Houses can be viewed at wandsworthart.com. Printed guides with a map of all participating venues will be available from your local library, and at various venues and organisations throughout the borough.  You can also get a printed guide from the Enable Arts Team by calling (020) 8871 8711, emailing arts@wandsworth.gov.uk or writing to the Enable Arts Team at Staff Yard, Battersea Park, London SW11 4NJ.
