AFFORDABLE HOMES

Work has begun on creating Battersea Power Station’s 386 new affordable homes ready for local people to move into in the next couple of years, in partnership with housing association Peabody.

Designed by award-winning architects Patel Taylor, the buildings will echo the style of London’s red brick mansion blocks which are found across the capital from Battersea’s Prince of Wales Drive to Hampstead.

Homes will range in size from 1-bedroom apartments to 4-bedroom family homes. Nearly all homes will be dual aspect, with access to a private terrace or balcony.

Alongside the homes, there will be a new NHS medical centre at the heart of the development and over an acre of open space, including a new central garden with children’s play area.

The new neighbourhood will also provide incubator work space and retail units to support local businesses.
The range of homes will be available to rent and buy at discounts of up to 70% depending on applicants’ individual circumstances.
