Nine Ways to Support Local
With the hospitality industry taking a big hit due to the tier restrictions and multiple lockdowns, it has never been more important to look after our community and #supportlocal. To help the Battersea Power Station retailers who we all love and miss visiting greatly, we've put together the best ways to support them during these challenging times. Whether you're looking for a creative date night at home, gifts for birthdays and anniversaries or simply for some inspiration in the kitchen (because what else is there to do...) have a look at some of the great things you can still do this lockdown that also help your community of local businesses.
1. Wine tasting and cheese night
Battersea’s Vagabond Urban Winery is usually one of the coolest places to grab a glass of the finest merlot or pinot grigio in the area, and they are now doing flights of wine delivered to your door! Pair this with Brindisa's (Tapas Brindisa's sister brand) online Spanish food store and their amazing cheese selection, and you have the perfect pairing for a night in front of the fire with something a little special. Vagabond are also open as an off-licence over the weekends if you are in the local area.
2. Take-away lunch or dinner
Many of our restaurants such as Cinnamon Kitchen and Tonkotsu are still open for take-away, offering their delicious meals for click & collect or delivery. This is one of the best ways you can support them during these difficult times so to find out who is offering what, click below.
3. Ready, steady, cook
Cooking may feel like a chore sometimes, but with a new recipe, some good music and a glass of wine in hand, it can be a lot of fun. To help you find some inspiration, a number of our amazing retailers have shared some of their secret recipes with us, from cocktails and cheese fondues, to black pepper crab and hearty fish pie. With the incredible range of fresh seafood delights from the Wright Brother’s online shop and Brindisa’s Spanish online store, you can also unlock access to exciting new ingredients that you won’t find at your local supermarket, all delivered to your door.
4. Decorate the house and take an online flower class
Zoom quizzes are a thing of a past, that much is obvious, but what else can we do to stay entertained this lockdown? Moyses Stevens have the answer with a series of online classes (including a dried flower class) to help you liven up the home, and learn something new. Make sure you take a look at their beautiful range of bouquets and house plants too, available via their click and collect or home delivery services. Paul Edmonds also offer a lovely range of candles to complement your new floral decor.
5. Champagne and oysters date night
Wright Brothers have a special offer of a slick branded oyster knife, so why not indulge in some of their amazing oysters and a bottle of their Wright Brothers Piper-Heidsieck Essential Champagne at home? Sparkling wine and Champagne options are also available at Vagabond Wines here.
6. Upskill with DNA VR Academy
For beginners looking to learn how to create their own VR, we have the answer. DNA VR have created an online course that is fun, informative and easy to follow. All you need is a VR headset and an eagerness to learn!
7. Paul Edmonds hair care
