Share the Love this February
This February and Valentine's Day is all about treating yourself and showing the important people in your life you care. Whether it’s showing appreciation to your flatmates for letting you take over what was once the dinner table to create a ‘home office’, bringing something to your next winter walk with a friend because they’ve also doubled as your therapist, sending something thoughtful to your parents because it’s been far too long since you’ve seen them or to simply love thy neighbour, we have put together some fun ways to help spread the love far and wide this month.
Quality Time Together
Breakfast in Bed with Black Sheep Coffee
Did you know Black Sheep Coffee make the best Norwegian waffles and that you can order them (and several other delicious pastries and snacks) from the likes of Deliveroo and Uber Eats for delivery across London? Up your breakfast game with a quick order of their best coffee and treats, lay it out on a tray and viola!
Bonus tip: Dress up the lounge with duvets, pillows and blankets and bring the bedroom to the lounge. Then put a cheesy romantic comedy on the tv - it’s Sunday after all!
You Know What They Say About Oysters…
The team at Wright Brothers have put together a fantastic selection of boxes to help you make some seafood sensations at home - perfect for an overdue treat or date night. Don’t miss the boat!
Bonus tip: Add the Wright Brothers Oyster shucking knife in the order as a gift.
Leave the Cooking to Us
Get out of cooking anything ‘romantic’ by trusting the teams at Cinnamon Kitchen, Tapas Brindisa or Tonkotsu, all currently offering delivery and/or click & collect. We recommend indulging in Brindisa's churros which you can simply heat at home.
Bonus tip: Make the meal ‘immersive’ by putting on an ambient playlist from the country of the cuisine and add a couple of candles to make your home feel more like a restaurant.
Wine Tasting with Vagabond Wines
Love comes in all shapes and sizes, so the team at Vagabond has put together their best selection of wines in helpful tasting flights just for you. Sniff, swirl and sip your way through six wines with someone over a virtual call, or if you are lucky enough to be in the same house over a tasty cheese selection from Brindisa's online store.
Online Flower Arranging Workshop
A great one to do digitally with friends or your family! Moyses Stevens have put together a range of online courses for all ages and abilities. Classes run throughout February and March, and range from flower crowns to dried flowers and hand tied bouquets, so there is plenty to choose from.
Bonus tip: Invest in a trendy new vase before the class to ensure your new creation has somewhere special to go.
Apres-Ski Themed Night
This one comes highly recommended by one of our own team! Layer on the ski gear, brew up some mulled wine and pair it with the Megan’s cheese fondue recipe. A fun one to do as a couple or with your household.
Bonus tip: The Megan’s half-baked cookie dough dessert is a 10/10 treat, if you have any room left that is!
Cocktail Making Competition
Who’s the best shaker in the house? Create a mini cocktail competition and try out some fun new recipes. Don’t worry, we have your secret weapon – a few tried and tested recipes thanks to our retailers like No.29 Power Station West.
Bonus tip: Cocktails often need a lot of ice so make sure you have filled the trays the night before and have lots on hand.
Create your own beauty salon at home for some well-deserved self-love. From new candles, face masks, serums and root kits, Paul Edmonds have a great selection online available for home delivery.
Bonus tip; Make a day of it with a friend, put on a fluffy robe, some comfy slippers and an episode of Friends.
Flowers from Moyses Stevens
If you don’t know already, Moyses Stevens do the best flowers in town. Beautiful bouquets can be ordered for click and collect, or for delivery, making it incredibly easy to show someone you care this February. Or if you are a fan of How to Loose a guy in 10 Days, maybe go for the ‘love fern’?
With over ten of our retailers offering gift cards, it’s a great option as a present for a loved one. Especially if you choose a couple of options and make a day out of it, when we’re allowed to! A treatment at hair and beauty salon Paul Edmonds then lunch at Fiume? The perfect match. A round of crazy golf at Birdies followed by a warming Tonkotsu ramen? Make a date out of it together!
A classic you simply can't go wrong with! If you are in the local area we recommend stopping by The Battersea General Store, or if slightly further out, check out the online Spanish store Brindisa for their special chocolatey goods.
Virtual Reality Academy
Did you know that virtual reality expert’s DNA VR have an online academy where you can learn how to create your own alternative universes? This is a great gift that brings together learning something new with epic levels of fun and is perfect for all abilities.
From Cinnamon Kitchen’s Vivek Singh, to Brindisa’s ‘The True food of Spain’, our retailers have a range of great books to help your loved ones get inspired in the kitchen. Pair the book with a gift voucher for the restaurant to make an extra special present!
