Lastly, we also have Vivek Singh's special naan recipe for you below:
35g (11/4oz) sugar
400ml (14fl oz) full fat milk
1 tbsp salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
750g (1lb 10oz) refined flour
50 ml vegetable oil
Mix the sugar and eggs with the milk in a large jug, until thoroughly dissolved.
Place the flour into a large mixing bowl and mix in the baking powder and salt.
Gradually pour the milk solution into the flour mix and knead lightly to make a soft dough. Take care not to work the gluten too much or the dough becomes too stretchy.
When all the ingredients are mixed thoroughly, cover with a damp cloth and leave to rest for 15 minutes. Add the oil and mix lightly to incorporate the oil.
Pre-Heat your salamander or grill on max. Place a couple of oven proof pans on the hob and bring to heat. Flatten the dough or roll to approx 5mm thickness then place on a pan for a minute or so until bubbles form on the surface and bread cooks on the underside, then move the hot pan under the grill and cook for another 2-3 minutes or until the Naan bread cooks and gets coloured spots on top. Voila! Home cooked naan is ready!
