Sleigh bells ring; are you listening? Battersea Power Station will be launching The Winter Village, a new and exciting festive destination for London on 28th November. Encompassing Circus West Village, the first chapter in the regeneration of the Power Station and The Coaling Jetty, an historic Grade II*-listed jetty, which opened to the public for the first time in August, The Winter Village at Battersea Power Station will be the place to eat, drink and be merry this Christmas.

Transformed with Christmas trees and festoon lighting, The Coaling Jetty will host a selection of food and drink pop-ups serving festive inspired specials and cosy alpine wooden huts to snuggle up in and enjoy the stunning river views. Capture the perfect Christmas shot with the iconic Battersea Power Station as a backdrop at the Winter Village’s Christmas sleigh themed selfie spot. Post your picture with #wintervillage @batterseapwrstn to share your experience.

Carlin Fier, Head of Brand at Battersea Power Station Development Company said: “Following the success of the Summer Garden Party on The Coaling Jetty in August, we are excited to be creating a new festive destination for Londoners and visitors from further afield. With its prominent position on the River Thames, The Coaling Jetty provides a unique setting to launch the first Winter Village at Battersea Power Station and will complement the strong Christmas offering from the great mix of bars, restaurants and shops already open.”

Fancy trying something different this festive season? The Winter Village at Battersea Power Station will be home to London’s only riverside curling lanes. Simple yet addictive and lots of fun, why not challenge your friends and family to this game of ‘chess on ice’. Little ones will also be able to try their hand at ice skating with the help of some friendly penguin aids on a synthetic ice rink with stunning river views.

Looking to impress your guests this Christmas? Moyses Stevens, London’s oldest and most prestigious florists, will be hosting Christmas wreath decorating classes at The Winter Village. Using a pre-made wreath base, the florists will demonstrate how to build in additional foliage and add a variety of seasonal decorations to complete a beautiful Christmas wreath. These adult workshops are taking place on 30th November and 1st December at 11am and 2pm.

Battersea Power Station’s weekly River Walk Market will be getting into the festive spirit with Christmas favourites including artisan Panettone and mince pies from the Flour Station, mulled wine and spiced cider from A Glass of Joy and seasonal cheese such as Mont d’Or, Comté, Oude Beemster Gouda, Tome Fort St. Antone from Borough Cheese. For those looking for present ideas, the Christmas market’s arts and craft stalls have it covered. The River Walk Market will be open on Thursday 28th November, the launch night for The Winter Village at Battersea Power Station, and following that Friday to Sunday each week. For more information follow @riverwalkmarket on Instagram.

The wonderful retailers and restaurants in Circus West Village will also be offering special Christmas delights and menus throughout the festive period. From delicious Italian dishes at Fiume, where Francesco Mazzei is Chef Patron, incredible modern Indian cuisine full of flavour at Cinnamon Kitchen, brilliant British seafood at Wright Brothers and organic sourdough pizza at Mother, you really can try Christmas delicacies from around the world at this riverside destination. Serving chilled craft beer and homemade toasties, Battersea Brewery, South West London’s own micro-brewery, is ideal for groups of friends heading to The Winter Village and London’s first Urban winery, Vagabond, is a must visit for wine connoisseurs.

Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without seeing a festive play or film. Experience family- friendly mischief at The Turbine Theatre with the acclaimed stage adaptation of Dr Seuss’s, The Cat In The Hat. Running from 11th December – 11th January, this lively and engaging show is perfect for any little one’s first trip to the theatre. The Cat in the Hat will also be making a special appearance at The Winter Village on 28th November at 6:45pm to turn on Battersea Power Station’s Christmas tree lights followed by a performance from the Battersea Power Station Community Choir. Why not head down with the family to sing some carols with everyone’s favourite mischievous cat. Boutique Archlight Cinema will be showing all the classics including Home Alone, Elf, Muppet Christmas Carol, It’s A Wonderful Life and Gremlins, as well as the highly anticipated Frozen 2. Grab a bag of popcorn, sit back and relax, it’s time for the festive film marathon to begin!

Birdies Crazy Golf Club will be landing at Battersea Power Station on 28th November, just in time for Christmas party season. Challenge your colleagues to putt their skills to the test on the 9-hole course, with each individual hole designed to derail the senses and challenge speed, accuracy and determination. Birdies will also boast its very own cocktail bar and offer street food fusing together broad culinary influences from Asia and Latin America.
