The exhibition, Our Beautiful Neighbourhood, is the culmination of a huge visual arts project for children and young people from primary and secondary schools across Wandsworth, celebrating nature in the borough.
Our Beautiful Neighbourhood was commissioned by Wandsworth Council and the Royal College of Art as part of the Welcome to Wandsworth schools programme for The Mayor’s London Borough of Culture 2025.
Pupils explored their local habitats and discovered some of the plants, animals and insects that can be found there. Children developed their observational and recording skills through fun drawing and collage activities. Their work was photographed and is being displayed on colourful, vibrant banners in five exhibitions across the borough.
Over 1,300 children and young people participated
52 classes of primary, secondary and SEND schools from across Wandsworth took part
