From 13th to 15th September 2024, we invite you to dive into the rich traditions of South East Asia at the ‘celebrASIA‘ festival.

Beyond the food and festivities, we are excited to offer a series of masterclasses that provide an authentic, hands-on experience for adults looking to explore these ancient arts.

All masterclasses will take place on Level One, Turbine Hall A, The Power Station.

Batik Art Painting

Learn the art of traditional batik wax-resist dyeing in this fun hands-on batik dyeing masterclass.

Duration: 1 hour

Age: This masterclass is recommended for 15+ years, children aged 6 – 14 years can attend with a paying ticket and must be accompanied by a paying adult.

Make a Handcrafted Bowl with Royal Selangor

This workshop for all ages will see you transform a flat pewter disc into a bowl using traditional tools and techniques, similar to those used by artisans over a century ago, while learning the basics of pewtersmithing from an expert artisan who will guide you through each step of the process, making this a truly special experience.
