ADAPTING FOR THE FUTURE: PLANS SUBMITTED FOR OUR EVOLVING MASTERPLAN
Welcome to our dedicated page on the latest proposals and plans for Battersea Power Station.
The outline masterplan for the 42-acre site, designed by Raphael Viñoly, and originally consulted on in 2009, was approved by the London Borough of Wandsworth ten years ago and provides the framework for a dynamic mixed-use town centre.
OUR VISION – A NEW ENERGY FOR LONDON
The established vision is to transform the Power Station site into a new creative urban quarter for London where people can live, work, shop and play. You can find out more by downloading a copy of the Battersea Power Station PlaceBook here.
This is realised through the creation of a vibrant mix of offices, shops, eateries and homes, alongside other uses such as hotels, cultural buildings and community spaces. We believe this has already started to be realised at Circus West Village and are looking forward to what is coming next.
Our experience over the years has brought many valuable lessons, including the need for flexibility in the scale and layout of buildings as well as the amount and location of different uses. We are drawing on this to review the future phases of the outline masterplan to ensure the plans evolve to reflect how design, placemaking and our surrounding area has changed in the last decade.
We are seeking to amend the Future Phases of the masterplan and incorporate flexibility for the location of uses, building sizes and layouts, which will ensure we can continue to deliver the vision of a successful new town centre for Wandsworth.
PUBLIC CONSULTATION & NEXT STEPS
Thank you to those who took part in our consultation on the proposed amendments to the Masterplan in January 2021, which included a series of webinars, and meetings with key stakeholder groups, neighbours and the wider community following this an application was submitted to Wandsworth Council in March.
As part of the consultation, we prepared a document summarising what has been delivered at Battersea Power Station to date and the proposed amendments to the Future Phases of the masterplan.

Since the March submission, we have continued to engage with neighbours and local stakeholders in order to ensure we address the comments received during our consultation activities.
In response to feedback and further post-submission engagement, including meetings with London Borough of Wandsworth and our neighbours and community, we have undertaken further revisions to the proposals which have been recently submitted to Wandsworth Council.
Once the revisions have been registered, which we expect by mid-August you can view it by visiting the Council’s planning pages and searching for the application reference 2021/0414.
