DIGILAB

Digilab Tooting is a digital hub delivering training to people of all ages across Wandsworth, from digital newbies, coders and makers, to hardware enthusiasts and game developers. Digilab is especially focused on giving local young people the skills to find work and start their own businesses. The foundation granted £5,000 towards the core costs of creating the digital hub.

“The grant from the Battersea Power Station Foundation has helped so much. When setting up, we didn’t have any money for the equipment we needed, particularly laptops, editing software, game consoles or cameras. It has also helped Digilab not to feel like a classroom. We want to challenge the conventional way of learning.”

Obed, Head of Digilab.

CARNEY’S COMMUNITY

Carney’s Community is a registered charity in Battersea that provides disadvantaged and excluded young people with the skills and opportunities they require to get their lives back on track. This is done through a combination of boxing and one-to-one mentoring. The Foundation provided them with a £75,000 grant over three years, to support core costs, staff salaries and expansion of their work.

“The past year has seen us make some great achievements with the participants we work with. I have no doubt that this is, in no small part, down to the ongoing relationship and support we have with Battersea Power Station.”

George, Chief Executive of Carney’s Community.
