Northern Line Extension (NLE)

As part of the wider Nine Elms development scheme, Transport for London will extend the Northern Line from Kennington to Battersea Power Station, with an intervening station called Nine Elms. Financed by developers in the Nine Elms area, including Battersea Power Station and the new US Embassy, the NLE will be London’s first new Tube line since the millennium.

Tunnelling from the Power Station to Kennington began in early 2017 and the new line is expected to be operational in 2020.

MBNA Thames Clippers River Bus

A new river bus pier will come into operation at the Power Station this autumn 2017. Services operated by MBNA Thames Clippers on behalf of Transport for London will connect the pier to the other 21 River Bus piers from Hampton Court to Woolwich, and onward to other transport links.
