The Battersea Power Station Community Choir was set up in the summer of 2016, and has grown to more than 100 local people regularly taking part in singing sessions and lately it has gone virtual. Follow us on social to find out more.

The choir have been asked to sing at the opening of The Ned, a new London venue, in front of a host of stars including Princess Eugenie, actors Eddie Redmayne, Woody Harrelson and Simon Pegg, TV personality and author David Walliams and models Poppy Delevingne and Daisy Lowe.

You don’t need to be able to read music or have a fantastic voice. Sam Evans, the Choir Director, selects fun, popular music and rehearsals are very relaxed. All you need to do to join is come to one of the rehearsals.

“Singing in the choir means so much to all of us. Through the choir, we’ve all made friends and got to know other local people who we wouldn’t have necessarily met.”

Ania, local resident and choir member
