London Seafood Festival 2019 – First Lineup Announced

London Seafood Festival will once again make a splash at Battersea Power Station, as it returns this summer 12-16 June for a week full of culinary delights, chef collaborations, exciting new pop-ups and activities for all to enjoy on the banks of the River Thames.

Vivek Singh of Cinnamon Kitchen has been confirmed as the first renowned chef in the lineup of events, with a decadent dining event on 14 June with special guest Asma Khan (Darjeeling Express and recent star of Netflix’s Chef’s Table). Tickets and further details to be released early May.

Wednesday 12 and Thursday 13 June
Visitors can enjoy limited edition ticketed dinners, kitchen takeovers, masterclasses with renowned chefs and special festival menus inside the restaurants, bars and shops at Battersea Power Station, including seafood specialists Wright Brothers.

Friday evening all the way through to Sunday (14-16 June)
Battersea Power Station will be making waves with live music, street food, live cooking demonstrations, entertainment, pop-ups and more.

Fun for families
There will also be plenty on offer for the little urchins, with the beloved St Ives Mermaid swimming into town all the way from her home in Cornwall, face painting, and interactive performances from Miss Ballooniverse – balloon artist to the stars and beyond, and all-new Ocho the Octopus – the 4m high, 7m wide ground-breaking inflatable by Tim Davies Design.

Nicola Casperson, Live and Brand Experiences Director, said: “Let’s face it, most Londoners are totally nuts about seafood – and the success of the festival last year just goes to prove it! Seafood is so versatile in terms of its appeal, from fine dining to street vans and stalls, there’s something for everyone, and this riverside location makes it the ideal place to enjoy all that London Seafood Festival has to offer.”

“There’s so much theatre and fun when it comes to seafood and that’s all part of the experience and something we’ve really tried to bring to life at the festival this year. London Seafood Festival is a great example of the ongoing series of events and activities on offer at Battersea Power Station, which is quickly becoming one of London’s must-visit destinations.”

Vivek Singh, Executive Chef and CEO of the Cinnamon Collection, said: “Asma and I are incredibly excited to collaborate on a fantastic Indian feasting menu at Cinnamon Kitchen Battersea for London Seafood Festival this June. It has always been a joy to cook with Asma over the years and we’re looking forward to bringing the London community together at Battersea Power Station to celebrate the city’s diverse dining scene.”

Robin Hancock, Co-founder of Wright Brothers, said: “Wright Brothers were thrilled that Battersea Power Station supported the idea of London Seafood Festival and made it happen in 2018 with a hugely successful outcome. We are also delighted to be involved in organising this year’s festival, celebrating our amazing British seafood which is our passion and at the core of our business. It is going to be a very exciting event and experience and we can’t wait to welcome seafood lovers from far and wide.”

This year follows the inaugural festival in 2018, which attracted nearly 25,000 visitors to Circus West Village, a riverside quarter home to a growing selection of restaurants, bars, cafes and shops.
